We shopped around different agencies over a year before our trip and we chose Custom Vietnam Travel Co. as they were the most accomodating and responsive to our requests. We wanted to tailor our own trip to our interests and with their quick responses and very professional advice, especially of Jane and later Fiona, we stitched a stellar month-long trip. We recommend this agency for their fair and reasonable pricing, their professionalism and their care to be in touch and available throughout the entire trip to any need. BTW, upon arrival we were given a local mobile phone with all the numbers of the guides, agents and the hotline so that we could be in touch in real time. Very impressive.

We recently had a 5 week holiday in Vietnam, starting in the South. Custom Vietnam arranged a short private trip in the north of Vietnam. Over a couple of months during the planning phase Julie, the agent who arranged everything for us, was helpful, professional and always gave speedy responses to all the many emails we sent, checking details and making helpful suggestions. Julie was great at customising the trip according to our interests and physical ability and suggested a number of 'soft' treks for us when we were in the mountains! We drove to Sapa in the North west for three nights with a great personal guide and a very safe driver. We had a night either side of this in a hotel in Hanoi - suggested by Julie - and it was excellent. We finished with a fabulous cruise to Bai Tu Long Bay for 1 night with an excellent cruise company which Julie suggested and arranged. Julie also managed to book us overnight train accommodation from Ho Chi Minh City to Danang when we were having difficulty booking it ourselves because out trip was coinciding with the build-up to Tet. Julie was incredibly friendly and helpful, giving our trip in the north a delightful personal touch. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone wanting to travel in Vietnam in the future

We used Custom Vietnam Travel for our recent trip to Vietnam. It was such a wonderful two weeks. Susan was our agent and arranged everything to perfection. We had terrific guides, excellent drivers and saw and did so much in the time we were there. There was constant communication between the office and our guides so everything was always punctual and well done. The hotels were lovely and absolutely spotless...breakfast was included and plentiful. We always had lunch at a lovely and/or interesting location. I was a little apprehensive of the homestay in Sapa but it turned out to be a fun filled day hike to get to the village followed by a delicious home cooked dinner and breakfast. My husband and I have raved about our trip since we have been home...it was that terrific! So nice to have it planned out in advance and not to spend time looking for hotels and figuring out how to get from A to B. Susan was delightful and easy to work with . Thanks again for a fabulous two weeks!!!!

Our family of four arranged a 16 day private tour of the northern half of Vietnam in November/December 2017. Initially we talked to a few tour companies but finally selected Custom Vietnam Travel. Our contact was Jane who was professional, responsive and answered all our questions. Starting from a list of places that we wanted to visit, we finalised our itinerary with Jane's help and advice. Upon arrival we were met at Noi Bai international airport by Bien, our friendly English speaking guide. The four of us together with Bien and Nam, our driver, spent the next 12 days in a 16 seater van visiting Sapa, Mu Cang Chai, Son La, Mai Chau, Ninh Binh, Vinh, Dong Hoi, Phong Nha and Ha Long Bay. After that we spent 4 days on our own visiting places of interest in Hanoi. The trip went flawlessly and all of us had a wonderful time. It was a memorable holiday.

I cannot recommend Custom Vietnam Travel enough. They were unbelievably amazing to work with. Susan was our agent, who I feel was pretty much a friend by the time we were done. She went above and beyond to help us plan 2 1/2 weeks in Vietnam. We had a very complicated itinerary, that included people in our group arriving at different times and moving around to several cities. The accommodations could not have been more perfect for us. We had a lovely time in Halong Bay on a 3 day / 2 night cruise, a super time in Hanoi (which was one of our favorite places that we weren't expecting). We also went down to Phu Quoc and stayed in a gorgeous resort, a night in Saigon for New Year's and then up to Hue for a couple of days and drove down to Hoi An. Every hotel was in the best location and the transfers were on time with excellent drivers. When we needed to hire a driver for the day, I just sent her a message and they were there on time the next morning to take us around. I had a ton of questions throughout the whole planning process and she was so patient with me and always assured me not to worry, she was there to help. It was the most stress free trip I have ever taken. We will go back to Vietnam and I will use Custom Vietnam Travel again. I wish they could plan every trip for me, they were absolutely wonderful. Pricing was well within our budget and she gave us several options and completely customized our itinerary for what we wanted. It was perfect. Thank you Susan for everything you did for us. We spent 2 fantastic weeks in Vietnam organized by Custom Travel. Fiona handled our itinerary and answered all the questions we had. The tour guides were always on time, friendly and knowledgeable! We also met Fiona when we arrived in Hanoi and it was great to place a face to someone we were emailing constantly. Definitely recommend Custom Travel to anybody wanting to visit Vietnam!

We booked a 8 days’ customized family tour of Vietnam and Cambodia through Custom Vietnam Travel.Ms.Julie Bui,a travel specialist,prepared an excellent itinerary for us.She patiently answered all our queries.She was constantly in touch with us throughout the tour making sure that we were comfortable.Though we booked the flights and hotels by ourselves,everything else was nicely taken care of,thanks to Ms.Julie.The Halong bay cruise was magnificent and so was the trip to Mekong delta and Cu Chi tunnels.Our guides Ms.Tam in Hanoi,Mr.Quang in Saigon and Mr.Vudthy Long in Cambodia were really good and had a deep understanding of the local history.The tour pricing was also reasonable.Overall,it was an excellent trip.I would surely recommend Custom Vietnam Travel to anyone looking for a customized tour package to Vietnam and/or Cambodia.

It was a great experience to go to Lan Ha Bay and Halong Bay! We choose Custom Vietnam Travel because they offered the possibility to have a private junk just for the 6 of us! The price was reasonable, being a private tour, the service great: the crew prepared wonderful meals during our 1 night stay, plus a cooking lesson to learn how to prepare fresh vietnamese rolls. They were very helpful and our guide was always nice. I think that the possibility to see Halong any and Lan Ha bay in a private junk is wonderful. Lan Ha bay is beautiful and less crowded than Halong Bay. I definitely recommend Custom Vietnam Travel for this wonderful experience tailored just for us.

My two weeks in Vietnam began with three wonderful days in the northern mountain region planned and executed by Susan Nguyen of Custom Travel. From the first introduction, I knew that my delightful guide Lam and driver K. were completely dedicated to making my trip special. Lam is a natural born guide--he seemed to be having as much fun as I was. He answered all my questions, made lots of small changes along the way to accommodate my interests, and best of all, helped me connect to the people and places along our route. My driver K. handled a long, arduous route under less than perfect road conditions with total competence. He was always on the lookout for photo opps and seemed happy to make surprise stops so I could jump out to capture special moments--like a wedding pig roast by the side of the road. They gave my trip a depth that I could never have achieved on my own. We spent Christmas Eve together in Ouyana Son village having a delicious hot pot meal prepared by another Custom Travel guide/driver pair with their three Aussie travelers, and our homestay hosts. I will never forget it. Another reviewer said "fantastic and faultless", which captures my experience also.

A packed 2 week trip of Northern Vietnam with cultural and active elements fitted around visiting son who was teaching English in Ha Long. Jane put together a great schedule and was able to change it at the last minute so we could do a homestay in Sapa. We had two great guides Thuan & Kim & driver who kept us safe especially on the mountain roads! Hanoi overwhelms the senses and useful to have a guide to navigate through. Tam Coc was great fun on the boat & cycling, Cuc Phoung hike & visit to Primate Rescu Centre well worth the visit. Trip to Cat Ba & boat trip through mangroves to limestone cave before overnight junk trip was great amazing food & service, if you have time walk up to Cannon Fort for the views & history. The journey to Sapa is an adventure in itself and has that end of the road feel in a state of transition, walks through the valleys were interesting and not too energetic, enjoyed the homestay with great food.
